Ladies Guide For Choosing Shoes For Every Ocassion

Shoes give the first impression of what you are, unlike the misconception that it is clothes. Selecting the kind of shoes you wear can be fatal to your dress code, or sometimes can build your reputation. When choosing your footwear be always comfortable, be adventurous and take the risks you want to take, but don’t go farther than what you feel is sensible for the situation.

Measure your shoe size and shop for shoes late in the day. Your feet swell as the day goes on, so you’ll want to choose shoes that will fit at any time of day.

Below are  some factors to consider when choosing your footwear.

Choosing office shoes

Wear brown or black leather shoes at a conservative office. Grey and navy are good choices for the office too. Incorporate color only if you have a less strict office with a corporate casual dress code. Avoid casual flats at the office or in other professional settings.

Kitten heels look appropriate for the office while still looking feminine enough for a night out. Loafers are appropriate for nearly any professional setting. Avoid wearing extremely high heels or sexy, strappy designs in professional settings, depending on your profession.

Matching your shoes with your clothes

Most people get confused on choosing the best shoes to blend their clothes. However, this is a simple task if you follow the tip below:

Always Choose shoe colors that match your clothes instead of colors that compete with your clothes.  Add zest to a plain outfit by wearing brighter shoes.

Consider a pair of strappy, high-heeled sandals the next time you wear your little black dress or similar evening wear. Avoid flats with long skirts as this may make you look dowdy.Home in on a color found in your clothing if you’re wearing a multi-colored outfit.

Avoid strict color matching. Do not wear one solid color from head to toe. Try wearing your heels with casual clothes to add a touch of style to your everyday wear. Throw on a pair of stilettos with your jeans and fitted t-shirt to give the outfit an automatic style boost. Wear low-heeled sandals with virtually any skirt length or pant length.

Blending your shoes with your body

Avoid heels with ankle straps or T-straps if you have short legs. Straps also have a tendency to cut off the leg, making it look short. Avoid heels that are more than four inches tall if you have short legs. Ultra-high heels make the calf muscle flex more, which leaves your leg looking less slender.

Wear oval-shaped or square-toed heels if you have large feet. Avoid tapered or pointy heels that may end up making your feet look even larger.

Wearing shoes for events

When going out, three inch/7.5 centimeter heels may look impressive, but if you are unable to walk around in them, the good impression is gone. Stick to women’s beach shoes that make you feel comfortable and confident to make the most out of any look. Go with closed-toe or open-toe pumps for banquets and other formal events. Opt for closed-toe, open-toe, or strappy heels for semi-formal occasions like cocktail parties.

Save flip-flops for short-term casual settings. Limit them to the beach or, if necessary, for running errands. Consider flats for some semi-formal occasions. For example, try matching a decorative pair of flats with a nice sundress for a garden party or other outdoor dress-up occasion.

Choosing shoes for different weather conditions

Boots evoke images of colder weather and prevent airflow from reaching your foot, making them warmer. Wear snow boots for snow and rain boots for rain. Switch to your fashionable boots when you’re comfortably inside.

Wear pseudo-athletic shoes that slip on with an open back for daily errands or for work in the garden.
