Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that distributes and markets Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, will this month unveil 18 new service stations as part of its network expansion strategy. This will bring to 138 the number of Shell service stations in Kenya. The new service stations are spread out in Nairobi, Machakos, Mount Kenya and Rift Valley regions.

Speaking in Nairobi while opening a new station on Ngong Road, Nairobi, Managing Director Polycarp Igathe said the company is growing its footprints in Kenya and improving customer experience. “We have an ambitions plan to grow the number of service stations so that our customers can access our products with convenience,” he said.

Other new stations that will be opened this month are located in Makutano, Mwea, Embu, Runyenjes, Nkubu, Kinunga, Meru, Nanyuki, Keroka, Kisii, Awendo, Gilgil and Machakos. Collectively, the 14 stations will create over 200 new employments to youths. The initiative comes nearly four months after Vivo Energy Kenya introduced Shell FuelSave Unleaded and Shell FuelSave Diesel to replace the Shell Diesel Extra and Shell Unleaded.

The launches will be marked by provision of free fuel to customers, this being an extension of the happy hour campaign that Vivo Energy launched in July 2014 to give customers a chance to sample the new fuels.
