One injured in explosion at Connected conference

There was a fire scare at the ongoing Connected East Africa conference at Leisure Lodge resort in Diani, Kwale County.

One person was injured in the incident, escaping with light burns. The hotel staff is said to have lit a match while handling mentholated spirit which exploded and burnt his legs at the tea serving area outside the conference.

A resident doctor was called in to attend to him. The conference was not disrupted.
