The inaugural Unclaimed Financial Assets Africa summit scheduled to take place from 28th – 30th   October 2015, in Nairobi has been been pushed 27th – 29th April 2016.  The organizers of the event – Unclaimed Property Assets Register Kenya (UPAR) – have postponed the event, citing, “unavoidable circumstances”.

“We sincerely apologise for this turn of events,” said UPAR CEO and the Summit’s Director  Joe Ngigi. Further to this and in view of the compliance requirement of the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority of November 1, 2015, UPAR will conduct a series of stakeholder trainings from the 28th October atWindsor Golf Hotel & Country Club as part of build-up activities to the April Summit.

Areas to be covered in the training include, understanding the Unclaimed Financial Assets Act 2011,  Financial Assets and their effects on organizations, avoiding risks associated to non compliance of Unclaimed Financial Assets Act, Unclaimed Financial Assets documentation requirements, the obligations under the Act,  compliance, penalties and audit process under the Act.
