Tussle for tech market gets vicious as Canon joins the fray

Office Technologies Ltd, Canon’s distributor for imaging and business solutions in Kenya has opened the doors of its first Canon certified service and training centre in Nairobi which will act as the East African hub.

Somesh Adukia, Regional Sales Director, Canon Middle East said that the move was propelled by the company’s desire to look for market niches and satisfy emerging needs of customers.

“As a world leader in imaging solutions, Canon has recognised the importance of East African markets and investing in developing a strong sales organization in the region, especially in Nairobi.

Kenya represents a key market for Canon as its consumer landscape is evolving and growing at a fast pace and indications are that this market has substantial scope for sustained growth,” said Adukia, adding that Canon will focus on a customer focused approach in delivering its services.

Building on its overall customer focused approach; Canon has designed its customer-dedicated services to support the specific needs of the Kenyan market. Providing bespoke professional support and guidance, the facility offers the highest standards of installation, training and maintenance services for Canon’s impressive portfolio of products distributed by Office Technologies Ltd.

“The print and imaging industry is fundamentally changing. The quality of Canon products is the foundation of our business, and the high-level of training and support that the new service and training facility offers, gives us a real edge over our competitors.

With the opening of a dedicated service and training facility in Nairobi, our goal is to further reinforce our commitment to providing consumers with the highest level of support and service,” said Thomas Gachiri, Area Manager, East Africa.

Commenting about the launch of Nairobi’s first Canon certified service centre, Basil Serrao, Managing Director, Office Technologies, said, “We understand the need to move from a traditional hardware-centric sales approach to a more service-led business model that looks at optimising business processes.

The new facility is in line with our vision to provide our customers with unrivalled quality training and after sales services.”
