Gloves are now off in the war of words between Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and Senator Mike Sonko.
Mr Kidero has launched a searing attack on the flamboyant Senator, accusing him of using his ambulances and hearses to supply drugs to the slums, according to a report on the Star online. The newspapers efforts to reach Sonko were futile as his phone and text messages went unanswered.
“It is very ironical that ambulances are roaming all over our roads in full sirens for people to assume someone’s health is in danger only to find out they are dashing drugs to some place,” Kidero said.

Mr Kidero was speaking to Mathare residents where he officiated the launch of AQtap water ATMs. He said many youth in the area had lost hope and resorted to drug and substance abuse.
“It is sad for respected leaders to use their influence to destroy our young generation with drugs instead of mentorship and financial empowerment projects to end poverty,” Kidero said.
