Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has scooped 27 prestigious International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 Innovations Awards. CES, the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow held by the Consumer Electronics Association® (CEA) every year, has honoured Samsung with 117 awards in the past four years. Samsung Electronics’ award-winners include products in the TV, home theatre system, mobile phone, tablet, home appliance, and server, software, and computer component categories Among the 27 CES awards for 2013, Samsung was recognised with two Best of Innovations awards and four Eco-Design honours.

Products entered in the CES Innovations program, are adjudged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers, and members of the media to honour outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics across 29 categories. Speaking in Nairobi, Samsung Electronics East Africa Business Leader Robert Ngeru described the awards as a befitting tribute particularly given that the firm had picked CES awards for a number of products marketed by Samsung in the East Africa region.

“It’s a well-deserved honour and privilege for Samsung to pick awards for such products as the Samsung SIII, Samsung Smart Camera, Galaxy Note 10.1 and Samsung Series 9 Premium Ultra Book products at the world’s largest consumer electronics convention,” Ngeru explained.  “Samsung continues to create superior products, content and services and we are honoured that CEA and the industry have recognized this commitment and we look forward to continue demonstrating our product innovations in East Africa”

All of Samsung’s award-winning products will be on display during the 2013 International CES, which runs January 8-11, 2013 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
