Samsung lets the Smart experience begin

Barely a week after unveiling a phone that can detect emotions, Samsung SIII, global electronics manufacturer Samsung unleashed other smart devices meant for home usage.

A smart TV, a wireless audio dock system and smart sound enhanced home entertainment system are the new devices from Samsung, as the company moves to enhance is local business performance.

The devices will ensure that consumers enjoy the smart content and smart evolution across the new LED and Plasma series TVs.

Samsung Electronics East Africa General Manager Allan Oyier said that the firm is currently rolling out a series of SMART TVs to meet the lifestyle needs of discerning local consumers.

With Kenya being a perfect market for Samsung products according to Mr Oyier, there is need to provide the masses with interactive gadgets that serve the emergent needs of consumers.

“TVs have ceased to be just a medium of communication and are now a lifestyle product to deliver interactive Infotainment propelling Samsung’s product push. Kenya is a key market for Samsung, one that comprises of discerning consumers who are demanding for the world’s best electronics products as the ones offered by Samsung all based on Built for Africa platform,” said Oyier.

Samsung Smart LED TVs bring a new era of interaction, design and content. They redefine the way in which consumers manage their home entertainment experience and interact with their Smart TVs with rich features.

• Smart Interaction—An Intuitive platform based on Motion Control, Voice Control, and Face Recognition commands for the TV. Smart Interaction complements the remote while offering greater choice and convenience in how consumers control their home entertainment experience.

Users can turn the TV on or off, activate selected apps or search for content in the web browser simply by speaking in any of the 26 languages that are supported by the technology, and with a wave of their hand, they can browse and choose a link or content via the web browser.

• Smart Content—Share photos, memories and memos with family from the TV to the cloud to smart devices, manage your own health directly from the TV, and access educational content for kids.

The industry’s broadest offering of movies, TV shows and streaming videos can be enjoyed via Samsung Apps, the industry’s preferred TV apps platform, and Samsung Smart Hub.

• Smart Evolution—Select Samsung TVs in 2012 will allow consumers to enjoy new experiences as their TV is ‘reborn’ each year with the latest smart technology, simply by installing kits.

The evolution kit will deliver enhanced hardware and software offerings on Samsung’s proprietary system-on-chip technology—extending the consumers’ “new TV” experience for years to come.

• Family Story album –lets users organize photos and videos on the flat screen. Family members can also send memos and reminders to the TV anywhere they are via the Samsung SMART phone, tablet or PC.

• Fitness –allows consumers to connect their Samsung TV to a Samsung smart phone via a mobile fitness app called “Noom.” They can also connect to a WiFi-enabled scale to manage weight and exercise goals, and use the TV’s built-in camera to create a virtual mirror that helps replicates exercise activities.

• Kids –offers a wealth of infotainment and games in a kid-friendly interface that parents can control and monitor. The new range of audio products featuring Samsung’s hybrid technology, Samsung’s new Audio Dock with Vacuum Tube Amplifier is the company’s first dual-docking system that supports a broad range of Samsung’s Galaxy devices and Apple devices.

Technology wise, Samsung electronics, he disclosed has integrated its proprietary hybrid Amplifier technology with vacuum tube into its 2012 premium Audio Visual lineup to guarantee the highest quality of sound that consumers can enjoy individually or with friends and family at home.

Samsung’s new wireless Audio Dock featuring Samsung’s exclusive Amphitheatre hybrid technology, combining Vacuum Tube Amplifier with digital amplifier with dual-docking port supports a broad range of Samsung’s Galaxy devices and Apple devices to provide docked and wireless connectivity .

The result-superior sound quality with an elegant design, while exuding sophistication with its high gloss mahogany piano finish—to blend seamlessly into the décor of any home.

Featuring a 2.1-channel speaker and built-in subwoofer with 100 watts of sound, the DA-E750 provides superior convenience and portability options, supporting wireless audio file playback via All Share play for Samsung GALAXY devices and Airplay for Apple devices or through Bluetooth technology.

Also, analog input and a USB port to play audio files directly from a thumb drive, music player or portable hard drive—MP3, WMA and WAV file formats are supported.
