Corporate communications entrepreneur Gina-Din-Kariuki is this year’s recipient of the Business and Professional Service East and Central Africa Award.
The award given by Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government and Titans recognises entrepreneurs and individuals who positively contribute to the society by changing lives and have made substantial contributions to the development of African economies and communities.
“Our Vision is, and has always been, to bring into the limelight those women who are fearless, dedicated and act as agents of change in their communities,” said Annelize Wepener Chief Executive and Founder CEO Global, which runs the awards.

The 2015 Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government and Titans is sponsored by South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), Bigen Africa, Air Mauritius, Air Namibia, CEOS Technologies and Hilton Hotel Group.
Speaking to business executives at a local hotel in Kenya, Annelize said, “Named as one of Africa’s Most Influential persons, Gina Din Kariuki added a country and regional award in the Business and Professional Services sector to her repertoire.”
Mrs Kariuki is the Founder and Chair of Gina Din Group, a public relations company that develops and executes innovative communication strategies for the public and private sector, media relations and crisis management.
Mrs Kariuki also has interests in the Energy sector as the director of Erin Kenya. “Communication remains a competitive field and I thank those who appreciate the work we do. I also thank the people who we work closely together to shape lives and conversations across Africa,” said Mrs Kariuki.
Other women award winners were Chemical, pharmaceutical and petrochemical – Jillian Usagi (Kenya), Education and Training, Academic Professor Jessie Githanga (Kenya), Financial Services Dr Jennifer Riria (Kenya); SME – Country Winner Christine Khasinah-Odero (Kenya), Kate Kibarah (Kenya), Welfare and Civil Society Organisations – Finalist: Yemeserach Belayneh (Ethiopia); Country Winner: Angela Ndambuki (Kenya); Regional Winner: Yetneberesh Nigussie Molla (Ethiopia & East); Lifetime Achievement Awards: Dr Jennifer Riria (Kenya); Prof Jessie Githanga (Kenya).
In the men category, the winners included, Business and Professional Services – Patrick Wafula Wanambisi (Kenya), Financial Services – Benson Kariuki Kitabu (Kenya); ICT –Paul Odero (Kenya), Media –Geoffrey Mutsami Angote and the SME – Regional Winner Kelvin Macharia Kuria.
