Parents and residents of Umoja 2 Estate in Nairobi today stormed Fadhili Junior School to protest the killing of two boys by the school’s bus last evening, as the graphic details of how the two little boys were run over – and back again by the huge bus.

Seven-year-old Dominic Kimani and Wycliffe Bob,12, were riding a bicycle near the school when they were knocked by the bus, according to eyewitnesses, according a Nation report. The parents and residents demanded to speak with the school director whom they claimed had not communicated since the accident happened.

Witnesses said the boys were riding on the same bicycle and stopped at the gate when they saw the bus coming but were hit as the driver turned to get into the school compound. “We saw him knock them down and we tried to tell him to turn back but he looked confused and he stopped the bus with the boys under it,” a witness said. After a few seconds, the driver turned the bus, further crushing the minors.

The driver escaped leaving the minors, their green bicycle and a crowd at the scene. The two were taken to Mama Lucy Hospital where they were given First Aid and referred to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

Dominic’s mother Lucy Wangare said her son was the first one to die as he had been badly injured. “He was bleeding profusely from the chest and the hips. His legs also looked broken” she said.

Wycliffe Bob, who had been awarded earlier in the day for being position one in class, died at 8pm at KNH. He was a pupil at Unity Primary School. The driver of the bus, identified as Meshack Wachira, later reported at the Buruburu Police Station where he is being held. The school bus is also at the Buruburu Police Station.
