The mother who gave birth to a 6.3kg baby boy in May will have her medical expenses paid by Bungoma Women Representative, Reginalda Wanyonyi. On Sunday, Ms Wanyonyi said she would cater for Caroline Chemutai’s hospital bill and would ensure she receives proper healthcare.
“For our county to produce such a baby with such kilos is a very unique thing in the entire country that we need to take good care of and ensure the child is well taken care of,’’ she said.
Chemutai, 36, who was diagnosed with diabetes after delivering her baby at Kapsokwony District Hospital in Mt Elgon sub-county said her child’s health had deteriorated. Speaking at her home in Masindeti village last Friday, Chemutai said Harry Kimutai’s weight has reduced to 5.2kgs due to her condition and poor lifestyle.
