Kenyan security agencies have put the country on high alert for a possible terror attack targeting its airports. Intelligence reports reveal planned terror attacks on main airports in Nairobi and Mombasa.

An internal memo at Kenya Airports Authority  sent to all Airport Managers across the country warns that suicide bombers have been undergoing airborne suicide training  in Somalia for the mission.

The memo dated February 26th is signed by the Kenya Airports Authority Security Manager Eric Kiraithe who said the attackers are likely to target domestic flights. It specifically identifies Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Moi International Airport in Mombasa as main targets.

“The planned attacks by Al Shabaab against Kenyan airports are likely to paralyze operations at the vital install installations with far reaching ramifications to national security,” the memo states in part, urging the security managers to “manage the communication to achieve maximum alertness not to foster panic.”
