Abu Dhabi’s national carrier, Etihad, has unveiled its first Airbus A380, outfitted with “the only three-room suite in the sky.”

The A380 which will operate daily to London Heathrow starting December 27 is the first of a fleet of 10 on order from Etihad Airways. It features “The Residence by Etihad,” a three-room suite, complete with a living room, a private bathroom with shower and a bedroom, as well as a dedicated butler at the very front of the plane’s upper deck. The 125 square foot cabin can be used by single or double occupants.

The airliner also showcased its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner which will be flying to Dusseldorf, Germany starting February next year. It features a suite with a chilled mini-bar and seats that can be joined to create a double bed. More than 1,500 travellers were given a chance to tour using the aircrafts, in what Etihad president and CEO James Hogan termed as ‘reshaping the landscape of modern air travel.’

“Today is the culmination of many years of hard work and tremendous endeavor by hundreds of people both in our airline and outside. “With the launch of these aircraft, we usher in a new era of unparalleled luxury, comfort and service. These innovations represent our vision for the future.”

Etihad Airways will take delivery of four A380s and three Boeing 787-9s in 2015.
