Young Chepkemoiwho, who aspires to be a lawyer, says she has unsuccessfully applied for bursaries. Her parents were separated when she was still young.

“I have lost hope of joining my dream school since I have not received any help since the time the results were released,” she told The Star at their home on Sunday.

Chepkemoi said none of those she approached in her village have offered to help, hence her decision to sell her kidney for school fees. “I feel confused and uncomfortable because all my friends have already joined form one. My sick father is unable to raise the fees required,” she said.
