Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies are embracing a new retail sales partnership between Samsung Electronics and Nakumatt holdingsto enhance member services. The SACCO’s aligned to various local corporate organisations have been participating in the service, which enables members to purchase electronic products on a check-off system.
Speaking during an open sales day at Unilever Kenya Maisha Bora Sacco premises, Samsung Electronics East Africa, Consumer Electronics General Manager Allan Oyier, confirmed that the uptake for the service is gaining ground as most Sacco’s seek to enhance their value-added services. In the exclusive partnership – Samsung/Nakumatt Sacco’s check-off access – Oyier explained that Nakumatt Holdings provides a dedicated service to registered SACCO’s and their respective members wishing to purchase the full range of Samsung consumer electronics.
Already, a number of leading SACCO’s including; Mwalimu National Sacco (TSC), Nairobi Bottlers Sacco, Safaricom Sacco and Maisha Bora have signed up for the service. Such Sacco’s Oyier explained have embraced the Samsung/Nakumatt Sacco’s check-off access service which allows them to incorporate retail value add services through an outsourced model.
“This service appears to be winning the hearts of Sacco officials as it allows them to provide value added services to their members while acting as a business development platform,” Oyier said. With the new service, Nakumatt Holdings has undertaken to honour orders made by registered SACCO’s in respect to their members.
Once an order is placed and paid for a by a SACCO, the members will then settle the principal amount through the normal check off terms that apply in respective SACCO’s. With this partnership, SACCO members can buy Samsung Consumer Electronics from Nakumatt including TV’s, Refrigerators, Washing machines and domestic Air conditioners. Ends
