Tatu City has begun the construction of its first residential phase in Kieni Ridge. Aligned to the  Nairobi Metro 2030 strategy, the construction on 2,500 acres of land is a major investment in Kenya.

The launch was presided over by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohamed (pictured) and witnessed by Kiambu governor William Kabogo and US ambassador to Kenya, Mr Robert Godec.

Speaking during the launch, Ms Mohamed said the government is keen on attracting investments that would in turn create jobs. “We as government, are about attracting investment, creating jobs, opportunities and wealth. Tatu City is a showcase of the investment Kenya can attract,” she said.

Once complete, Tatu City will be a large-scale urban development consisting of residential, commercial, industrial, tourism, social and recreation amenities. Tatu is aimed at significantly de-congesting Nairobi by offering a unique live, work and play environment for an estimated 70,000 residents and 30,000 daily visitors.
