Former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi has resigned from United Democratic Forum (UDF), the party on whose ticket he ran for the 2013 presidential election.

Mr Mudavadi did not explain the reason for quitting the party in his resignation letter. Coming just a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta visited Western Kenya and even met Mr Mudavadi, the move has raised speculation that he could be headed for an appointment in government.

President Kenyatta’s highly successful tour of Kakamega climaxed with the delivery of a Ksh1 billion cheque to bailout ailing Mumias Sugar company.
