Sexual defilement on the rise in Bungoma

Police in Bungoma County have sounded an alarm over the rise in sexual defilement cases in the area.

Bungoma South OCPD Limbitu Kirunya, disclosed that 22 defilement cases had been reported in the past one month alone. Mr Kirunya said he is worried the number might be higher. “We get such reports almost daily,” he said. “The trend is worrying.”

He urged stakeholders to find the root cause of the problem. Bungoma South leads with 10 reported defilement cases, Bungoma North eight and Bungoma West four cases.
