Orange has launched a dual SIM handset, targeting the entry level users that will retail at Ksh999. The device dubbed Kaduda, comes with a 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth, micro SD slot and is also data-enabled.

Launching the device, Company CEO Vincent Lobry said that the major aim is to strengthen the company’s commitment to providing value and quality to its existing and potential subscribers but more so towards making handsets more accessible and affordable to all.

“With the expansion of our network across the country, during the first quarter of this year, this phone ensures that more Kenyans will get to access communication services at an affordable price and get to enjoy the quality of service that we offer,” said Lobry.

The CEO also adds that new Orange customers will get to experience the competitive tariff options, key among these being the company’s flagship Tujuane and the popular Holla as well as make use of its comprehensive SMS bundle options.

A recent report released by the Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) indicates that mobile subscriber penetration has reached 80.5% with current subscription at approximately 32 million. Kaduda will have one of the SIMs locked to Orange, with the second open to other networks. It’s available in all Orange shops countrywide and comes in red, black and white colours.
