Ogilvy Africa, the corporate communications agency, has sealed an agreement with African Leadership Academy (ALA) to take part in nurturing Africa’s next breed of marketing communications professionals.
ALA, the pan-African Johannesburg-based leadership training institution, is seeking to expand the continent’s pool of marketing communications experts. As part of the agreement, Ogilvy Africa will provide internship and career opportunities for ALA alumni inAfrica, joining other leading global corporates in the programme.
Ogilvy Africa has also signed a similar partnership with the International School of Advertising (ISA). Ogilvy Africa Chief Executive Officer Nadja Bellan-White said the long-term partnerships will entail the provision of leadership development opportunities for students and graduates seeking to pursue careers in public relations, advertising, marketing research and related creative disciplines.
“Our partnership with ALA and ISA presents a win-win platform to inspire, mentor and support Africa’s youthful sons and daughters seeking to make a mark in the global marketing communications space,” she said. “We have undertaken to provide an end to end internship and mentoring programme that exposes the young students to digital and traditional communication options.”
ALA students will have access to internship and career placement opportunities at any of the 25 Ogilvy Africa offices across the continent. African Leadership Academy was set up in 2008 to transform Africa by identifying, developing, and connecting the next generation of ethical African leaders and top talent.
