Lupita Nyong’o will be back in Kenya from June 29 for a homecoming tour.
And she has gone wild – quite literally. The Hollywood darling will be leading conservation campaign to protect wild animals.
“I am delighted to be returning home, especially with the added honour of being able to use this opportunity to help shine a global light on Kenya’s conservancy efforts,” she said.
Lupita will participate in a number of initiatives including a mentorship session with young students and artists on June 30, where she will discuss her acting career and provide tips on how to succeed in the arts.
She will also be the chief guest at a Gala Dinner that aims to celebrate the arts and fashion community in Kenya on July 2. Lupita will participate in conservation projects that will work with communities to protect animals and use art to raise awareness on conservancy efforts in the country.

“Our country’s elephants are a critical piece of the heart of Kenya and we need to take action now to save their population from the threats that continue to endanger their existence,” she said.
She will partner with WildAid, whose mission is to end the sale of illegal wildlife artefacts such as elephant tusks or rhino horns.
Lupita’s homecoming tour is supported by a number of local brands including Safaricom, Kenya Airways, Simba Colt Motors, African Heritage, Villa Rosa Kempinski and luxury bag manufacturer Lulea.
