Nation Media Group’s Broadcasting Manager Linus Kaikai is tonight fighting for his survival at the region’s biggest media house.
Business Today has exclusively learnt that Mr Kaikai this morning ejected a legislator from a live television show, claiming that “the company policy does not allow rape suspects to be hosted in the company’s broadcast platforms.”
Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti was being hosted by QTV News Anchor Thelma Mwadzaya. The subject of discussion was the recent conversion of the legislator to Christianity. “He ejected the MP from the live show to the embarrassment of the entire Nation Media Group,” says a senior manager at the Group.
It is understood that the furious Mr Mwiti immediately lodged a complaint with the management, a move that has prompted the disciplinary hearing against Mr Kaikai.

Initially appointed the Acting Managing Director of the NMG’s broadcast section, Mr Kaikai’s performance has in the recent past been wanting. For instance, few months ago he sacked some journalists, an unpopular move that was later overturned by the human resources.
“His management is wanting. That is why his powers are continuously being clipped. He was former CEO Linus Gitahi’s blue-eyed boy. There is a high doubt his below par performance will be stomanced by the new boss,” said a source familiar with Broadcast operations.
