Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was this evening forced to cut short his speech to mourners at a funeral in Brigadier, Tongaren Constituency, when the crowd turned against him after he started attacking Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka.
Chanting Bukusu circumcision songs, the huge crowd forced Mr Khalwale out of the podium and snatched the microphone from him.
“We cannot allow him to attack our governor? Who is he in Bungoma?” said an angry Mike Simiyu, a resident. The crowd demanded the Kakamega Senator be ejected from the vicinity. “Toka. Hatukutaki,” they shouted.
The leaders were attending the funeral of Mama Dinah Mulati Nasike who passed on in August 14, 2016.
