Is this why President Uhuru cancelled US trip?

The cancellation of President Kenyatta’s trip to the United States has raised a number of questions relating to his security planning and diplomatic engagement.

State House has issued a press statement saying the President who was in Dubai to connect to a commercial flight to Los Angeles cut his trip short due to military action in Yemen.

But some observers believe there must be a more diplomatic explanation given that there are other alternative routes the president could have used.

President Uhuru was travelling to Los Angeles, USA, where he was attend the 2015 Milken Institute Global Conference.

STATEMENT BY STATE HOUSE SPOKESPERSON ON THE PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO THE UNITED STATES
 
His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta left Nairobi last evening on board his official Kenya Airforce aircraft destined for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where he was due to connect to a commercial flight to Los Angeles.
 
Following reports of increased military activity in Yemen, there was a challenge on the routing leading to a decision to turn back. The President touched the ground at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 11.42 pm.
