Salama Bling Beach Resort is a 3.5 star hotel in the heart of Mtwapa in Kilifi County. The hotel is among hospitality investments in former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s vast portfolio that also includes nightclubs as well as real estate holdings.
The hotel features stylish Swahili architecture as well as luxurious rooms, modern fittings and a wide range of amenities. It includes a swimming pool, conference facilities, restaurant, bar and lounge.
It offers various cuisines including fresh seafood from the Indian Ocean. Salama Bling Resort also regularly hosts a variety of events including weddings, corporate engagements and family events and offers activities including quad biking.
Sonko’s other investments include his first nightclub at the Coast – a high-end joint known as Volume VIP Club in Shanzu, Mombasa County opened in late 2021.
Sonko has previously disclosed that he is keen on having a footprint across the country.

“My team and I decided to start establishing enterprises in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kilifi, Kwale and Machakos counties on our path to opening entertainment spots. ” the ex-Governor disclosed.
Volume VIP club is decked out with Versace themes, fancy gold fittings, lighting fixtures, a 3D dancefloor, screens and more.
The club officially began operations towards the end of December 2021. It has proved popular with revelers at the Coast – among them international tourists and local celebrities.
Sonko stated that he chose to focus on his investments while fighting various legal battles. He maintained that the revenue helped him continue the philanthropic works he was known for.
“Also, this is to assist me in obtaining resources that I’d ordinarily utilize to carry out my charitable and philanthropic activities. I know God has good things in store for me in the future, and just because I’m not in office at the moment doesn’t mean I stop doing what I do best,” Sonko shared.
