Multichoice Kenya has slashed monthly prices for Govt subscription ahead of the December and New Year festive season, in a move seen to build loyalty to the service.

A statement from Mr Philip Wahome, Multichoice Kenya Corporate Affairs Manager, said the company had cute its pay TV access fees by 24 percent effective today.

“GOtv is committed to ensuring the best channels and content is available to Kenyans in digital quality,” said Mr Wahome. “That’s why we are slashing the price of GOtv Plus by 24%, effective today.”

The cut is, however, for only three months “to keep Kenyans entertained during the festive season.” The new monthly price for GOtv Plus bouquet has dropped to Ksh699, down from Ksh920. This gives Kenyans access to a great range of family entertainment at a more affordable price.

This rate cut comes just over three weeks after MultiChoice slashed subscription charges for its high-end DStv pay TV service by up to 15 per cent prices alongside a massive content upgrade from November 1. MultiChoice says it has reduced the bouquet prices by between 5 and 15 per cent in response to customer needs and the current tough economic environment in Kenya.

Through Gotv price decrease, customers will have access to 44 channels including Telemundo, FOX life, Eva Plus, M-Net Movies Zone, Zee World, E! Entertainment, Nat Geo Wild, SuperSport 9, Disney Junior, Nickelodeon including a host of other local channels.
