NAIVASHA, Kenya

GOtv has rolled out its services in Naivasha, Murang’a and Embu using the latest generation Digital Video Broadcast standard – DVB-T2 – with an introductory offer of Sh3,399 inclusive of two months subscription. Residents of these towns are expected to benefit from easy access to an increased number of channels, with enhanced picture and sound quality synonymous with digital television at an affordable price.

Meanwhile, Mombasa residents too have a reason to smile with the addition of GOtv Plus bouquet in the coastal town.

Speaking during the launch at the County offices, Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua noted that the launch of GOtv in his county coincides with the government’s objective of migrating from analogue to digital TV transmission. “Kenya committed to a mutually agreed East African deadline of 2012 to fully migrate television broadcasting to the digital platform. This move is expected to free up much-needed spectrum, which the government plans to re-use for other purposes,” said Mbugua.

He also added that the launch of GOtv will play a pivotal role towards contributing to this technological transformation and help the country achieve its set target towards the migration from analogue to digital TV transmission. General Manager of GOtv Kenya, Mr Felix Kyengo said the new pay-TV service, is a product of innovation from MultiChoice and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, to make available an affordable digital television product to all Kenyans.

“We at GOtv are constantly innovating to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible digital television to Kenya. We come from a solid corporate background and family in which MultiChoice has a proud legacy of providing the best digital television to Africa. Thus, not only are we passionate about digital television, but we are passionate about Africa – which is why GOtv is the home of great channels – made in Africa for Africa,” said Kyengo.

GOtv provides television lovers with a digital quality picture and sound and an exciting range of local and international channels. Subscribers will have access to an exciting selection of channels containing news, children’s programming, documentaries, series and movies. Kyengo said GOtv channels are carefully selected to cater for a variety of different tastes and family viewing needs at a very affordable price.

Some of the channels that will be available to GOtv subscribers include M-Net Movies Zone, Select Sport 1 & 2, Africa Magic World, Africa Magic Swahili, One Gospel, E! Entertainment, Channel O, eTV Africa and local channels such as KBC, NTV, KTN, Citizen TV to mention but a few. In Naivasha at launch the GOtv decoder will be available at a special price of KSH 3,399 inclusive of a two months GOtv Plus subscription from the MultiChoice Agent (Happy Go Ltd). Ends
