Full list: Former Nation journalists take early exit from Standard

A good number of former Nation Media journalists poached to boost Standard newspapers quality are among the permanent staff who have exited through the voluntary early retirement safety net offered by their employer.

They include Julius Maina, who was in charge of Saturday Nation before moving to Standard in the same capacity, then being appointed managing editor in charge of special projects. Mr Peter Okong’o, deputy managing editor, Standard daily, who has also retired worked as a sub-editor on the Nation newspaper’s business desk.

Others who came from Nation but have retired from Standard include: Oscar Obonyo (writer, Sunday), Juma Kwayera (writer, Saturday) and George Mulala (Standard photo editor.

Here is the list of staff members who have recieved retirement letters:

1. Julius Maina –ME, Special projects

2. Peter Okong’o (deputy ME, daily – contract not renewed)

3. Dorcas Muga (deputy ME, weekend)

4. Juma Kwayera –writer, Saturday

5. Oscar Obonyo – writer, Sunday

6. Stephen Makabila -writer, Sunday

7. Kwamboka Oyaro –features editor

8. Joshua Kemboi- KTN sports editor

9. George Mulala – Standard photo editor

10. Peter Choge -sub-editor, Saturday Standard

11. Grace Tunya

12. Sarah kinya – TV producer
