Printer manufacturer Epson and software developer SMART Technologies have announced an extension of their smart services to teachers and lecturers in Africa, a move aimed at increasing their marketing portfolio.
SMART granted distribution rights to Epson in 2013 and the move allowed Epson to offer Notebook software with projectors sold in North, Central and South America. This latest agreement extends that reach to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In the new deal, tutors in EMEA will be able to select Epson interactive projector, complete with industry-leading SMART software. Existing Epson customers will also be able to purchase the SMART Notebook software separately.
“This combination of SMART Notebook software and an Epson interactive projector will provide educators with further flexibility to create impactful lessons that bring learning to life. This will enable students to benefit from more effective and collaborative learning,” said Epson East Africa Regional Sales Manager Mukesh Bector.
“SMART’s strategy is to make the world’s most popular collaborative learning software available to more schools, teachers and students around the world and we are excited to be working with Epson, and its leading line of projectors, as a step towards realising this goal,” remarked SMART Technologies director for software strategy and channels Mr David Lapides.
SMART Notebook software licences will be available to purchase with Epson’s interactive projectors from 1st February 2015 across EMEA. SMART Notebook software licences will be available for existing Epson customers through Epson and SMART resellers.
