Radio presenter Angela Angwenyi (pictured, left) has quit Nation FM, barely two years after joining the radio station owned by Nation Media Group.  The veteran radio presenter says is quitting radio after 10 years in the industry.

Ms Angwenyi announced the move today morning in a series of tweets as she hosted her last ‘State of the Nation Show’‘ on Nation FM.

“Today is my final curtain call & I’m saying thank you to all people who have been so helpful in my radio journey,” she said on Twitter. “The demo I used 10 years ago to apply for a job is the worst ever but was hired on the spot.”

It’s not clear where she is headed, but  sources say she resigned over some disagreement with her managers. Ms Angwenyi was among the team rebranded Nation FM from Easy FM, taking the morning breakfast show and turning it into a sober look at topical issues.

“In this industry it is all about giving people opportunities, and I am grateful,” she said.
