Select university students to join Obama at Kasarani

Selected students from public universities will attend the Obama public address at Kenyatta Safaricom Indoor Arena at the Kasarani Gymnasium.

Business Today has learnt that the American Embassy has written to public universities asking them to nominate students to attend the rare occasion. A letter send to Chuka University says students will not be allowed to carry small cameras to the venue.

According to Chuka University Vice Chancellor Prof Erastus Njoka, the US Embassy, through Ambassador Robert F. Godec, wrote to the institution to submit 28 names of students who will be cleared to attend the event.

He also said the Dean of Students and Students’ leaders are consulting on who should be considered the opportunity. Mr Njoka said he had received a personal invitation at the US Embassy in Gigiri on Friday and said he would use the occasion to drum support for Chuka University to entrepreneurs. The students will travel on Saturday night for the event set for Sunday.
