The fire engine, estimated to cost Ksh50 million was to put out bonfires lit by demonstrating BodaBoda operators at Salgaa area, along the busy Nakuru-Eldoret highway. It is reported that they used petrol to set the engine ablaze. The driver, who was hurt in the process, could not drive off because two trucks were at the time blocking the engine.

“The youths attacked us first by pelting stones at the engine before petrol was poured on it  and they set it on fire,” Julias Yeter, one of the fire fighters is quoted.
