Airtel Nigeria bagged three prestigious industry awards, during the recent 8th edition of the Nigeria Telecoms awards, cementing its authority as the leading mobile telephony company in the West African state.
During the occasion that was held in Lagos, the company edged out competitors to bag Telecoms most innovative company of the year, Telecom brand of the year and Customer friendly operator of the year awards.
Speaking during the event at the ‘Incubator Centre’ in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer who also doubles up as the Managing Director for Airtel Nigeria, Mr Rajan Swaroop, dedicated the achievement to their employees who, according to him, have worked diligently to keep the company growing, amid cut-throat competition.
“These awards are a sign of the enterprising and resilient working spirit of our staff. Everyone at Airtel Nigeria is passionate about creating value for Telecom consumers as well as exceeding their expectations,” said Mr Rjan.
The Customer Friendly Operator award is the company’s third in a row at the Nigeria Telecoms Awards, since the launch of Airtel brand in Nigeria 2010.
Airtel, which operates under Bharti Airtel Limited, is ranked among the top five mobile service operators globally in terms of subscribers and it is presented in both Francophone and Anglophone dialects.
Bharti Airtel Limited whose services are present in 20 countries across Asia and Africa had over 262 million customers across its operations at the end of July, 2012.
