Two employees of Botswana Water Utilities found dead in a dam

GABORONE-BOTSWANA: A search and rescue team has found two bodies of the three missing employees of Water Utilities by Wednesday after the trio went missing on August 6 during a routine assignment of collecting water for analysis from the Gaborone Dam.

King Tshebo, a police station commander told media on Wednesday that the second body was discovered in this morning following the recovery of the first body on Tuesday.

He said the second body was found about 100 meters from where the first one was found. The search for the last one continues.

According to Tshebo, cold weather had affected the search over the past days, and none of the 20 scuba divers from the Botswana Police and the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) could spend more than two minutes in the water.

The three water utilities employees were dispatched to the dam on Aug. 6 and had not returned to office by the afternoon. Their vehicle was found at the dam with nobody inside.

The incident was immediately reported to the police.And a search and rescue team, comprising the police, Botswana Defence Force and employees of water utilities, searched for them without any progress until Tuesday when the first body was discovered. (Xinhua)
