William Ngene Njuguna, 29, a man who was recently arrested and charged in court for trespassing into State House has died. His body was reportedly found at Uhuru Park’s main dais last week according to Mutuini chief George Mukuria.

“His body was taken to City Mortuary from where fingers prints were taken and it was established that he is a resident of Mutuini. With the help of area MCA Martin Karanja we managed to locate and inform his immediate family,” Mukuria told Nairobi news.

Njuguna’s family has asked for a postmortem to be conducted on their son’s body to ascertain the cause of his death. Mr Njuguna made news headlines in March when he pleaded guilty before Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo of accessing State House, Nairobi, without permission.

During the hearing, Njuguna told the court that he just wanted to see State House. “I wanted to see State House with my own eyes, how it looked like, since I only saw it in the newspapers and TV. I was curious,” he told the court.

Njuguna jumped two fences to get into State House and started walking around before being spotted by the General Service Unit officers who handed him to the Anti- Terrorism Police.
