Unilever Kenya in conjunction with Naivas Supermarket have handed over a two-bedroomed house to a lucky customer who won it during their joint Omo detergent campaign. The house, located in Machakos County, is worth Kshs3 million and the winner was selected from thousands of customers who participated in the in-store promotion – “NGARA NA OMO SHINDA NYUMBA NA NAIVAS” – conducted in all Naivas outlets countrywide.

The winner, John Musyoki, a retired civil servant and a father of five could not hide his joy as he narrated the journey since he was announced the winner. “I am so excited to be the winner of a brand new house courtesy of OMO and Naivas. This house is surely going to change my life for the better. I participated in the promotion just like many Kenyans and through God’s will I emerged the winner of the grand prize. This is a dream come true for me, and a good gift for my retirement” he said.

Mr Musyoki, who is a Machakos resident participated in the promotion while shopping at Naivas supermarket. He purchased 2 packets of 500g OMO, filled in his details on the system generated coupons, entered the draw and was later declared the winner in 2015. Informed by the fact that Machakos is a growing metropolis, he chose a plot in Migwani area where the two companies bought the land and put up a 2 bedroom self-contained house for him.

On his part, the Director Home & Personal Care Unilever East Africa Antony Esyalai, said the promotion aimed at cementing OMO’s position as a trusted brand. “Developing strong consumer connections is a goal that many brands would aspire to achieve. But going the extra mile to change the lives of our consumers, takes the heart of a real purposeful brand such as Omo,” Esyalai said.
