President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto today led Jubilee Alliance Party leaders in a tour of Kajiado Central Constituency where they asked residents to vote for the party’s candidate in next monday’s by-election.

The President’s first stop was Namanga town where he addressed a public rally, which was also addressed by local politicians as well as national leaders.

President Kenyatta and the Deputy President led the push to boost campaigns for Mr Patrick ole Tutui who in 2013 came second to Cabinet Secretary (Rtd) Major General Joseph Nkaissery. The by-election was called after President Kenyatta picked Nkaissery to become a Cabinet Secretary. “We need leaders in Parliament who are ready to work for the people and not those who will engage in needless wrangles,” he said.

The President told Namanga residents that the Government plans to develop the town so that it becomes an important economic zone playing a bigger role in Kenya and Tanzania. The Government has already upgraded the road leading out of the town and the construction of modern customs offices is nearing completion.

The Deputy President urged the residents to vote for the Jubilee candidate because he will be part of a dependable team that is motivated by a desire to develop the country. “The difference between Jubilee and CORD is like day and night. While Jubilee leaders are busy working for Kenyans, all that CORD politicians do is engage in insults, demonstrations and throwing stones,” he said.

The President also spoke at Maili Tisa and Ngatataek. He was to address other public rallies at Bisil and Kajiado.
