Former Vision 2030 Director General Mugo Kibati has been named the new CEO for Pan Africa Insurance Holdings Group. He takes over from Tom Gitogo who moves to CIC Insurance as the group CEO.

“The Board of Directors of Pan Africa Insurance Holdings is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mugo Kibati as the new Group CEO,” Pan Africa Chairman John Simba said.

Kibati retired from the position of Vision 2030 Director General in 2013, moving to private sector. He is currently the chairman of the board for Turkana Wind Power Project. He has also served as Electrical Engineer at Bamburi Cement, Technical Marketing Manager at Lucent Technologies in the United States and CEO of East African Cables.

“This appointment has been made after rigorous recruitment exercise that sought to identify a leader to provide the necessary impetus to continue our growth and diversification,” Simba added. Mugo is set to turn around the dwindling profits for the insurance company which registered a 25% drop in 2014 net profits.
