Leading online Shopping Mall Kilimall has signed up for Safaricom’s plan that allows customers to pay for products and services using loyalty points. With a redemption value of 10 points for Sh2, Kilimall becomes the first online store in Kenya to accept Bonga points as payment.

Kilimall Managing Director Robin Xie says this partnership, through Safaricom’s “Bonga Popote” plan, offers customers a new convenient way to pay for their products while saving money.  This partnership runs until 24th January 2017. “We are happy the biggest mobile brand in the region is supporting the growing e-commerce industry in Kenya. Ultimately, it is the customers who benefit,” said Mr Xie.

Safaricom Bonga, launched in January 2007, is a loyalty programme where subscribers earn one point for every Ksh10 spent on voice calls, text messages, internet bundles and M-Pesa. Kilimall has enabled its online system to accept Bonga Points.

Kilimall will also accept payments combining M-Pesa and Bonga points. The e-Commerce company offers over 100,000 products across categories such as smart phones, computers and tablets, kitchen appliances and fashion items among others discounted prices.
