Kenya’s Dunford swims to Olympic semis

Kenyan swimmer Jason Dunford has qualified for the semifinals of the Men’s 100M Butterfly at the ongoing London Olympics after clocking 52.23s in his heat on today.

Jason who emerged fourth in Heat 5 will meet USA’s Michael Phelps, who is the Olympic champion as well as South African Chad le Clos in the semis, scheduled to take place tonight.

Jason’s brother David failed to qualify for the semifinals of the 50M earlier today after finishing third and clocking 22.27 seconds in Heat 5. He failed to beat the cut-off point of 22.27s for the semis.

On Tuesday, David failed to qualify in the 100M freestyle, emerging third in a heated competition. Having led at the 50M turn; he failed to keep the momentum finishing third in 49.60s
