GTBank in debit and credit cards partnership in Kenya

Emerging Markets Payments (EMP), the leading electronic payments processing company in Africa and the Middle East, and Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), have announced a processing partnership for debit and credit cards that will help scale-up the uptake of GTBank’s first platinum MasterCard Credit Card in Kenya.

GTBank launched the first Platinum MasterCard Credit Card in Kenya in June this year to cater for the increased demand from the growing Kenyan middle class and their resultant appetite for enhanced card products.  Following the new agreement, EMP will from October 2015 offer Debit and Credit Cards processing services to GTBank including outsourcing credit and payments processing services hence expected to enable the bank customers make more  transactions in real-time.

With their platinum MasterCard Credit Card, GTBank customers are now able to access their bank accounts 24 hours a day via the bank’s ATM network and at any other MasterCard branded ATMs and at Points of Sale (POS) across the country and all around the world. “We are extremely pleased with our growing relationship with GTBank across Africa and to be working with GTBank Kenya. We look forward to working closely together over the coming years and we are confident that its customers will benefit from our combined efforts,” said Murat Ozulku, CEO of EMP Africa.
