The war on digital migration is slowly simmering to the content being provided by each service provider. Since the digital signal unlike analogue is much clear for everyone, consumers are solely interested with the nature of content they are going to receive.

MultiChoice Kenya, by virtual of being the most experienced Pay TV provider in Kenya since 1995, seem to have been watching this space keenly and ready to give their subscribers either on GOtv or DSTV what they love most -be it Movies or Sports! SuperSport and GOtv, for example, have developed a variety of exciting sporting content from the top leagues in Europe to basketball, athletics, rugby and boxing, live on SuperSport Select 2.

Last weekend GOtv aired HSBC Sevens World Series, semifinals, finals and 3rd and 4th place playoffs in Las Vegas. The game between Arsenal vs Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace vs Liverpool, PSG vs Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur vs Fiorentina, were also live on GOtv Plus bouquet. Throughout February, GOtv is also set to show English Premier League matches via GOtv plus bouquet.

Other sporting events set to be streamed live on the GOtv plus bouquet are the Capital One Cup Final between Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur, the UEFA Europa League, the FA Cup Quarter Final, the IAAF Cross Country Championship in Guiyang-China, the Tokyo Marathon to be held on February 21 and the highly anticipated world middleweight championship fight between Martin Murray and Gennady Golovkin in Monte-Carlo.

GOtv’s General Manager Felix Kyengo promised a great content for its subscribers when the service provider was launched in 2011 and they are set for more tussles with other providers, each looking for new ways to win viewers’ eyeballs.

“Nairobi residents and their environs are now set to benefit from better access to an increased number of channels, with enhanced picture and sound quality synonymous with digital television at a price they can afford,” said Kyengo during the launch in 2011.
