East Africa’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer General Motors has penned a partnership with AutoXpress to offer after sale service to Isuzu and Chevrolet customers throughout the country.
General Motors East Africa Managing Director Ms Rita Kavashe said the move was part of a strategy to bring its after sale services closer to customers. “We have expanded our after sale services and networks to ensure our customers receive the same quality services they receive from us nearer to their homes,” Ms Kaveshe said.
The deal includes 11 Autoxpress outlets in the country but is expected to grow to a total of 76 outlets in the next two yeras. Autoxpress staff have been trained by General Motors to service both Isuzu and Chevrolet brands. Customers will also access a wide range of motor vehicle products such as wheels, batteries, suspension parts, lubricants and filters at Autoxpress outlets.
General Motors President in Africa and the Middle East, Mr Mario Spangenberg, said the partnership will help General Motors solidify its operations and combat counterfeit spare parts that continue to eat into its market. Companies lose close to 60 % of their customers to counterfeits, Isuzu Motors Senior Executive Officer Hiroyoshi Sakai said.
