Some 18M shares valued at Ksh516M were traded in 1,500 deals, up from 11M shares that were valued at Ksh435M posted yesterday.
The NSE 20 Share Index was up 0.29% to stand at 4773.23 points. The All Share Index (NASI) notched up 0.13 points to stand at 162.88.
The Banking Sector had 3.7M shares traded and represented 20.07% of the day’s traded volume. Equity Bank moved 1M shares at between Ksh46.25 and Ksh47.00. KCB eased fifty cents to close the day at Ksh57.00 on a volume of 1.8M shares.
Commercial & Services Sector moved 416,000 shares, which accounted for 2.20% of the day’s traded volume. Uchumi Supermarkets declined to Ksh8.95 on a volume of 228,000 shares, down from Ksh9.75 posted the previous session. Kenya Airways up 6.2% to Ksh6.80 moved 77,000 shares.
In Energy & Petroleum, KenGen moved 445,000 shares and closed the day at Ksh9.00.

The Insurance Sector had 1.1M shares traded and represented 6.32% of the day’s traded volume. CIC Insurance Group unchanged at Ksh8.00 moved 947,000 shares.
Manufacturing & Allied Sector moved 1.3M shares, which represented 6.96% of the day’s traded volume. Carbacid Investments moved 777,000 shares at between Ksh17.90 and Ksh18.50. EA Breweries moved 113,000 shares and closed at Ksh317.00.
Safaricom touched a high of Ksh16.25 and a low of Ksh16.00 on a volume of 11M shares.
