Week on week turnover rose to Ksh3.5bn from Ksh3bn posted the previous week, the number of shares traded stood at 116M against 119M the previous week. The NSE 20 Share Index was up 0.29% during the week to stand at 4778.63 points.
All Share Index (NASI) was down 0.30% during the week to settle at 162.40 points. Automobiles & Accessories accounted for 0.35% of the week’s traded volume. Sameer Africa moved 400,000 shares during the week and closed at Ksh5.10.
The Banking Sector had 24M shares traded which 20.73% of the week’s traded volume. Equity Bank was the most heavily traded counter in this sector, with 13M shares changing hands at between Ksh45.75 and Ksh47.00. KCB was down 2.59% to close the week at Ksh56.50 on a volume of 4M shares.
The Energy & Petroleum Sector moved 17M shares, which accounted for 14.61% of the week’s traded volume. KenolKobil moved 14M shares and ended the week at Ksh8.45. The Insurance sector had 3.4M shares traded and represented 2.93% of the week’s traded volume. CIC Insurance Group moved 2.3M shares and closed at Ksh7.95.
Manufacturing & Allied Sector moved 6.6M shares, which represented 5.74% of the week’s traded volume. Mumias Sugar was this sector’s biggest mover with 2.3M shares changing hands at between Ksh1.85 and Ksh2.00. EA Breweries moved 1.6M shares and closed at Ksh315.00.
Safaricom was unchanged at Ksh16.05 moved 56M shares.
