Sameer Africa Plc Net Profit Up 5.5% to KSh 274.3m

Sameer Africa Plc, a listed firm which retooled its business model from selling tyres to now letting out investment property, made a Net Profit of KSh 274.28m in 2025 from KSh 259.90 the previous year, an increase of 5.53%.

Revenues grew 11.1% from KSh 432.74m from KSh 389.48m in 2024, pushing up Gross Profit 11.4% to KSh 416.07m.

Sameer Africa Operating Profit leaped 47.7% to KSh 292.64m in 2025 from KSh 198.08m the prior year, the highest in more than a decade. The firm’s balance sheet size grew 13.1% to KSh 1.72m in 2025.

Earnings per Share, one of the profitability measurements increased 6.45% from KSh 0.93 to KSh 0.99% in 2025.

Sameer Africa filings indicate that it has since extended its property offering to more than 750,000 square feet of lettable industrial space with a mix of EPZ and non-EPZ facilities.

The firm provides clients with warehousing needs, serving over 40 tenants in various sectors including distribution, retail, manufacturing, agro-processing, business process outsourcing and energy, with over 90% occupancy and high retention rates.

Sameer Africa Net Earnings Trends

Sameer Africa has thus made its second highest Net Profit in close to two decades from the highest Net Earnings of KSh 401.19m in 2013 while 2016 was when the firm made the worst Net Loss of KSh 652.10m.

The firm sold its last consignment of imported tyres in 2024 worth KSh 873 million as the 56-year old firm, previously known as Firestone East Africa, shut down its tyre business. Sameer Africa now generates its revenues from rentals.

Sameer plans to offload 3.75 acres of undeveloped leasehold land valued at KSh 919.70m, the deal expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, boosting the firm’s cash reserves.

The Group owns a large property portfolio part of which is built up and on which our investment property income is derived and other parcels earmarked for future development. Its fully owned subsidiaries, Sameer EPZ Limited and Sameer Industrial Park Limited, let space to tenants licensed to operate in an EPZ.
