Blind and beautiful: Who is the best of them all?

Mount Kenya University sponsored Mr & Miss Visually Challenged Beauty Contest on May 30 at the Thika School for the Blind. It was organised through the initiative of Mr & Miss MKU Thika campus and was attended by modelling club students.

The winners were crowned in a colourful event which was attended by associate dean of student Emmanuel Awuor. The winners were awarded laptops with braille learning support. The initiative was aimed at boosting the self-esteem of the pupils. Speaking during the event, Awuor said MKU has well-constructed facility to cater for comfort of the physically challenged to help them achieve their academic objectives. (The Star)
