CORD leader Raila Odinga has been ordered to appear for interrogation by Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) investigators over the Eurobond allegations on Monday 14th or face arrest, giving the saga a dramatic twist.

According to the summons sent to the opposition leader today evening, the Director of Criminal Investigations requires him to appear before EACC detectives in person or be forced to do so.

Oppposition leaders led by Raila have accused the government of embezzling billions of shillings raised from the sovereign bond for infrastructural development.

Through a statement sent to newsrooms, the directorate of criminal investigations says the CORD leader’s information may assist in the investigations on the Eurobond saga. “I have every reason to believe that you Raila Amolo Odinga have information that may assist me in my investigations,” said Fredrick Mwangi, Chief Inspector of EACC.

He adds: “I require you to attend before me at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Headquarters police station on 14th December 2015at 10.00am without fail,” the statement read.

The opposition leader had earlier declined an invite from EACC and advised Treasury CS Henry Rotich to go to his office instead in case of any clarifications. However, the latest turn of events could create yet another twist in the Eurobond saga with the DCI warning him against any failures.

“Be warned that failure to comply with the acquisition will render you liable to prosecution,” the statement further read.
