Bees, the stinging insects that also make honey, have no respect for power. A fundraiser for churches led by Deputy President William Ruto at Lunga Lunga Primary School in Kwale County was almost cut shot after a swarm bees attacked church members and locals on Saturday.
Ruto and several leaders had just arrived at the school when the incident occurred. The crowd fled for safety, the Star reports. Bishop Moris Mwarandu of redeemed church and some members of the crowd began praying to repulse the bees.

Mr Ruto’s aids had to block residents who were trying to escape through his dais. None of the leaders present were stung. The bees were repulsed after a short time and the programme continued after the crowd calmed down.
Leaders who accompanied the DP include National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, MPs Gideon Mung’aro, Mustafa Iddi, Hari Kombe, Dan Kazungu, Zainab Chizuga , Gonzi Rai and Kwale MCA Mweruphe Ndoro.
Bishop Mwarandu said the bees planned to disrupt the meeting but through Gods power they went back. “I want to assure you that problem facing you in Rift valley is ending and so you should not be worried,” he also told the DP.
