A new pink Rose Flower was launched today and named ‘Margaret’ in honour of the First Lady. The rose flower has been cultivated for 10 years and was given to First Lady Margaret Kenyatta during the opening of the 4th edition of the International Floriculture Trade Expo (IFTEX) held at the Shree Visa Oshwal Community Centre in Parklands, Nairobi

Meanwhile, she urged flower producers to uphold women rights and provide them with a conducive work environment. The First Lady said women form the bulk of the workforce in the horticulture and floriculture industry, accounting for 60% of the workers.
